Program
Jim Gurley and Pete Beck were our guests today.
Jim Gurley of the Feed the Hunger organization provided taste samples of the meals which they provide locally and around the world. He reported on the meals sent to Iraq for victims of Isis. They had to be shipped through Turkey and entering Northern Iraq to a ground unit that was able to serve them to those in need. It was much needed and a very successful endeavor. There is a container of meals within about 2 days of reaching Honduras. He also reports a church in Houston is planning to pack 1 million meals in November!
In our community, the All American Pack a Thon will go for 31 days in July and volunteers are needed.
