Program: Lindsey Wrege – 321 Coffee
Marta Moos introduced the speaker Lindsey Wrege, Founder of 321 Coffee.
Lindsay is the co-founder and CEO of 321 Coffee, a coffee shop leading in neurodiversity inclusion in the workplace. Lindsay believes in the power of using business for social impact. She started this company in college, and it now employs over 20 individuals of all abilities. Now, she speaks on how to build culture and take action with purpose. Every decision brings an opportunity for impact.
Lindsay shared her experiences as a young girl in kindergarten and creating clubs that were inclusive of all types of neurodiversity. These experiences had a profound effect on her.
As a teen, she worked with Oceans of Hope, an organization that helps paraplegics learn to surf. As a college student, she became aware of the lack of meaningful employment for individuals with neurodiversity. So she along with three others started 321 Coffee. They started by purchasing coffee from Starbucks and serving coffee for free to any group that would have them. Their first location was the State Farmers Market in Raleigh. Now the employees provide coffee in multiple locations and are involved in all aspects of the business. Lindsay graduates in May and plans to start working full-time and opening additional locations.
