Master Sang-Ho Lee –Trip to Rotary International Convention, Seoul, Korea
Master Lee shared his trip to the Rotary International Convention that was held May 28th thru June 1st in Seoul, Korea. He thanked the Alamance Rotary Club for their support and stated that $1,125 was donated by 3 area Rotary Clubs toward his trip. Six Rotarians attended the convention from our District. There were 50,000 Rotarians from 200 countries at the convention, which set the record for the most in attendance at a RI Convention since its inaugural convention in 1910.
During one of the sessions, South Korean Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, spoke of the significant value Rotary has been to eradicating Polio across the world.
Katherine Segposyan–Exchange Student to Croatia
Katherine Segposyan is the first exchange student to be sent abroad from the Alamance Rotary Club! She shared her experiences from her 9 month say in Croatia by Power Point. She thanked the Rotary Club for allowing her to have this amazing experience and proudly beamed that this was the greatest time in her life.
Our club will be sending a Williams High School student to Belgium this year and we will be receiving an exchange student from Normandy, France.
Philip Stewart won the opportunity to draw from the deck of cards, but did not pull the winning card.
