Peter Visits India
Peter Barcus shared with us the details of his recent trip to India. Overall, Peter and his wife felt very welcome despite the Paris terror attacks happened the same time. The food was great but they did stick with “bottled beverages :-)”. While in India, they visited the World Heritage Site which were caves carved from granite in 500 AD. The site was magnificent and impressive! The traffic during their visit was very interesting. There were no stoplights or speed limits and cows were everywhere! Because cows are sacred in India, they are allowed to roam. Lastly, Peter was struck by the poverty of the country. 1/3 of the population has no access to electricity and 1/2 of the population does not attend school. Overall, Peter and his wife enjoyed their visit but were happy to be back home.
