Rotary Foundation – Debbie Porch and Susan Watson
Debbie Porch and Susan Watson are co-chairs of our Rotary Foundation committee. Debbie has been with Prime Personnel for 3 years in Staffing/Business Development and Susan Watson has been the Director of the Women’s Resource Center for just over 2 years.
Debbie shared there are four sources of funds for the Rotary Foundation:
- Paul Harris Fellowship – $1000 donation
- Sustaining Members – $100/year
- Benefactors – naming Rotary in estate planning
- Major Giving – $10,000 in total contributions
Our Rotary Foundation Goals for the year include:
- Participate in World’s Greatest Meal (week of 10/24/16) – funds will go to End Polio Now
- Sustaining Club/Every Rotarian Every Year – every member of a club makes a contribution of at least $100 to the Rotary Foundation
- 15% of membership (12 people or more) attend the November 2016 Rotary Foundation Banquet
Contributions to the Rotary Foundation are transformed into grants to fund humanitarian projects. After three years, clubs are given 20% back to use for projects. This year our club will have $883 to use from previous Rotary Foundation donations from our club members. Some of these funds were just recently used for our Feed the Hunger RUSH project.
We were asked to make a commitment to have 100% of our members contribute $100 during this rotary year. Last year, 17 members made the $100 contribution and 4 members have already donated for this year. Peter Barcus will create a sign-up sheet for members to have the $100 directly billed with their quarterly dues.
